We get up late – that’s 9am – and leave the hotel by 10am to start our sightseeing day in Washington. We pass all the big monuments one usually knows as backdrops for political TV news and it’s nice to be in those places first hand.

It’s again super muggy today with temperatures above 32°C/91°F and high humidity. After 3 hours walking around in the sun we’re all sweaty and T-shirts soaked. We have a quick lunch in Union Station before we head off to the Spy Museum where we spend the another 2 hours learning more about that business. Maybe I should consider this as an alternative career path?

For the way back we decide to “rent” e-scooters that stand around at every corner these days and have them get us back to the hotel where we take a shower and a rest before heading off to dinner in the evening.

Overall a nice day in Washington “seeing sights” and worth the time spent.
